Dublin South win inaugural M50 tournament

On Saturday 25th June the first running of the M50 tournament was held in Templeogue Bridge Centre. The tournament was an inter club teams event between the 4 regions surrounding the M50, namely Eastern Region, Dublin North, Dublin South and Mid-Leinster Region. The competition was split into 5 categories, Open, AM, Inter A, Inter B and Novice/Beginner and within each category there were prizes for the first 3 club teams. Also within each category there was a regional competitive element with the 4 regions scoring 4, 3, 2 or 1 point depending upon the placing of their club sides.
In a closely contested affair, the Dublin South Region was the first winner of a splendid trophy 'The M50 Trophy' which was donated by Gerry Murtagh. The competition was well attended with 50 teams involved in the contest and plans are already underway for next year’s tournament which will be hosted by the Eastern Region.’
